I was in a similar situation a few years back. At the time, TT's were selling for high $$$ and after a few months of searching for a clean one for a decent price I finally gave up. The 350Z was about to come out and I wasn't sure if I would keep the Z32 or sell it for a 350Z. I came across an immaculate 95 2+2 with 43k miles for $14500. I ended up getting it for $13,500 (keep in mind at the time a TT in similar condition would not sell for less than $18000). I fell into the NA trap as many of us on this forum have. I got spanked by many cars and I started to get sick of it. I loved everything about the Z32, but the problem was that it was very slow in comparison to the other sports cars on the market. When I drove the Z33 (I had my friend's car for 3 days), it gave me another reason to keep the Z32 and find a solution to the power issue. That's when I looked into the TT swap and went through with it. The reason I would do a TT swap on the NA is that when people sell their cars, they will not service it for you and make sure that everything is running as it should. In many cases, there could be hidden problems or required maintenance which leads the owner to sell the car. So even if you were to buy a TT, you would probably still have to spend money on the car to make it perfect. However, if you swap your NA, then you know exactly what the car needs, what has been done to it in the past, and you can change/upgrade whatever you would like to replace along the way. Additionally, you will have the NA rear end and cheaper insurance rates. I'm sure that some people will disagree with me, but I have done it before and I have absolutely no regrets. Given the chance, I will do it again.
